Learn more about Girls Rock Philly at its 2nd Annual Open House today

This afternoon, Girls Rock Philly – a local music and mentoring program for young women – showcases what it’s all about in its second annual open house. Taking place at GRP HQ (1866 Sepviva St. in Fishtown) from 2 to 5 p.m., the event will include performances from bands and DJs that emerged from the program’s annual camp, as well as an open jam session for interested campers and volunteers. Girls Rock also takes donations of instruments and other musical gear, so if you’re like me and have guitar amps idly cluttering up random corners of your basement, this is the perfect opportunity to pass them along to folks that will put them to positive use.
