Two human skulls kept Dr. John company today on the River Stage at the XPoNential Music Festival.  The Night Tripper performed songs from his most recent album Locked Down, which was produced by The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach and released in April 2012.  The crowd was in high spirits as the Doctor spun his voodoo tales and New Orleans funk, alternating between a Nord Electro 3 and a piano and decked out in his signature hat and necklace of baubles.  He brought some traditional Louisiana marching band flavor by way of a trombone player.  A round robin of bandmember solos introduced an organ player, guitarist and drummer as well. See photos of the performance in the gallery below and read the setlist after the jump.
