Listen to J. Mascis’ new “Every Morning,” catch him at World Cafe Live this fall

More than 3 years after his amazing album Several Shades of Why, Dinosaur Jr. frontman J. Mascis released his latest song “Every Morning” today. The album is a part of Mascis’s newest LP Tied to a Star. Last month, in a brief appearance on the Late Night with Seth Meyers, Meyers announced the album in passing. The casual album announcement mirrors the way the new song sounds. It carries Mascis’s trademark relaxed, front porch vibe. Guest performers include contributions from Cat Power, Mark Mulcahy, Pall Jenkins, and Ken Mairui. The new album will arrive August 26th via Sub Pop Records. Earlier this year, Mascis played guitar on local artist Strand of Oaks’ “Goshen ’97;” J. Mascis will be playing at World Cafe Live on September 25th.
