Lengendary drummer Ginger Baker returns with this latest project, Ginger Baker’s Jazz Confusion, at Havana New Hope Tonight. Recently, he released Why?, his first album in 15 years, a fusion of jazz and rock. Though the drummer recently turned 75, he’s still relentlessly touring and rocking out. Over the years, Baker has played with bands like Cream and Blind Faith as well as his own solo work.  Earlier this year, he released an Anthology “A Drummer’s Tale” album along with a picture book chronicling his career. He also did a very inspiring interview with BBC 2. Listen to a live recording of Ginger Baker’s Jazz Confusion below. Get more information about the show at the XPN Concert Calendar.

Philly bred jazz musicians, the Eubanks Brothers will be playing at Chris’ Jazz Cafe. The performance will be one of the rare times that two of the siblings, trombonist Robin and trumpeter Duane will be performing together. In a recent interview with the Key’s Shaun Brady, Duane expressed his excitement about playing with his brother in his hometown. However, he also explained that this show is a way for him to prove that he is just as talented as his other siblings. Robin, the oldest, has worked with SF Jazz Collective and is a tenured professor at Oberlin Conservatory. Meanwhile Kevin, the middle brother, has finished his 15 year gig as the leader in Jay Leno’s Tonight Show band. However, not be outdone, Duane has worked with a range of artists from Mos Def to Oliver Lake and alongside singer’s like Rhonda and Diane Ross.
