“This is the first festival we’ve played outdoors in the daytime,” joked Marian Hill frontwoman Samantha Gongol. The Philly / Brooklyn synthpop band took the Marina Stage at XPoNential Music Fest as the sun was beginning to set, and though the setting may have been new to the band, they rocked it with style and charisma.

Gongol swayed and danced behind the microphone, while producer / programmer Jeremy Lloyd jumped and bounced with equal energy behind his table of equipment. To the side, accompanying player Steve Davit provided cool saxophone and bass commentary. In addition to their single “Whisky” and other tracks from their Play EP, the band brought out new tracks called “Lips” and “Everytime” and played a sweet cover of “I Get A Kick Out of You.” Check out photos and read the setlist below, and listen to Marian Hill’s performance in its entirety here (via the WXPN media player).
