Minimalist punk duo Girlpool – who relocated from LA to Philly this month – is kicking off a string of dates in at local DIY venues tonight at West Philly’s Hazel House. The show is a benefit for the DIYPHL P.A. Share, a sort of gear and instrument co-op for independent Philadelphia bands. (The share is currently out of service while a speaker is being repaired, but should be back in business in February.) Tonight’s show also features New York pop punk group Quarterbacks and Michigan-to-Philly transplant Radiator Hospital. The show starts at 7, and admission is $5; more information here.

Girlpool will also be playing at the West Philly Retirement Center on January 16 with NJ-indie rockers Pinegrove, jangle poppers O-Face, NYC’s Battle Ave, and experimental acoustic Philly artist Shannen Moser. You can also check out see the duo playing at PhilaMOCA February 3 on Alex G and Teen Suicide’s mostly East coast tour.

Girlpool’s self-titled EP is out now via Wichita Recordings; watch the video for “Blah Blah Blah” below.
