BULKk calls in friends for benefit remix of Lost Sleep
BULKk is a “mysterious Internet band” from Philadelphia whose first record, Lost Sleep, has been given the remix treatment from friends near and far. Released through Human Kindness Overflowing, downloads of the seven songs will benefit Back On My Feet Philadelphia. The organization offers training, employment and housing options to people who are currently homeless in an effort to help them regain independent living.
Remixes were created by fellow Philadelphians Power Animal, Chaperone, Hero\Victim and Whorid, along with Detroit’s Coyote Clean Up and Georgia native Austin Edward. The edits amplify the layered flourishes of the original subdued, downtempo tracks; Power Animal looks at “worst way” through a tribal, optimistic lens while Hero\Victim views the same song as a warped, dark sonic dream.
