Nik Greeley | via “Gypsy Blues” music video | Directed by Kevin Shields | kevinmichaelmichael.com

Philly / Jersey singer-songwriter Nik Greeley (former frontman of Black Stars) has released his first music video, showing snippets of his city wanderings for the track “Gypsy Blues.” Greeley recently rocked MilkBoy for the release show of his first solo EP, Gypsy Town.

Directed by Kevin Shields (but, you know, not the dude from My Bloody Valentine), the video follows Greeley and his guitar out on Philly’s Graffiti Pier. About halfway through, he’s interacting with Philly Jesus. By the end, Greeley wails the track’s all-encompassing line, “This is the life I chose,” while perched on a bench in Ellsworth-Federal subway station.

The track and the video portray a day in the life of a Philly groove-master, and as Greeley advises, “turn it up.” Enjoy “Gypsy Blues” below.
