Natalie Prass to play at World Cafe Live in November
Singer-songwriter Natalie Prass, who released one of the best albums of the year so far – her highly acclaimed self titled debut – is returning to Philly in November. Prass recently delighted fans with an exquisite and intimate set at her performance in May at WXPN’s Non-Comm.
The music on her Prass’s album brings to mind Dusty Springfield’s Dusty In Memphis ,and the country, soul sounds of Shelby Lynne’s I Am Shelby Lynne. The songs on her album are arranged with such understatement and warmth, yet pack a powerful emotional punch. Peppered with classy horn and string arrangements, and some very soulful playing, Prass’ voice is intimate, calming, honest, and penetrating; cutting through the Muscle Shoals soul vibe of the musical performances.
