Last month at the Philadelphia Folk Festival, campers were treated to a special evening of World Cafe performances hosted by David Dye, featuring Philly-based Low Cut Connie, Toronto country singer Lindi Ortega, and Boston indie-folk group Tall Heights.

The raucous and fun Low Cut Connie seem to be far removed from folk music. While there wasn’t an acoustic guitar in sight during the band’s Philly Folk Festival performance, they brought the rock, propelled by Adam Weiner’s piano and rocking antics.

Boston’s Tall Heights brought their warm and intimate harmonies to the stage, and debuted some of the material from their forthcoming EP, Holding On, Holding Out.

Toronto country singer and songwriter Lindi Ortega graced the folk fest camp stage and performed songs from her recent album, Faded Gloryville.
