PREMIERE: Listen to Purples’ new song “Get Hurt,” see them open for The Districts in November
“Get Hurt” is the latest in a recent string of singles from local outfit Purples, premiered today alongside the announcement that they will open for The Districts and Lady Lamb at the Electric Factory on November 6th.
“Get Hurt” is the first song Purples didn’t record themselves, choosing instead to work with Auctioneer’s Craig Hendrix at Agave Studios. Its high speed energy follows the vein of August’s “It’s a Drag,” though this track is much more of a fun, straight-forward rock style than its predecessor’s Talking Heads angle. In fact, if you forget for a minute that “Get Hurt” is a Purples song, you might think you’re listening to Weezer.
