The End of America, a folk-rock band from Philadelphia, recently started a video cover series called “The Decade Sessions.” Each month, the trio records a cover of a 10-year-old song that has influenced them personally as well as their music. This month, the band covers “Act Appalled” by Philly’s own Circa Survive. The video features two microphones in the middle of the room surrounded by the band, who powerfully play two guitars and a banjo to create a unique, folk-infused cover of the iconic song. Maybe even more impressively, the band uses harmonies to make the acoustic cover feel big and dynamic.

The End of America will be performing at Autumn Acoustic Afternoon in Basking Ridge, NJ on November 8th. In honor of the ten year anniversary of their debut album, Circa Survive kicked off their Juturna Tour Friday at the sold out PlayStation Theater in New York. They will be coming to Philly for a sold-out show at the Electric Factory on November 27th. Check out The End of America’s cover of “Act Appalled” below.
