Canadian singer-songwriter Basia Bulat’s fourth album, Good Advice, is set for release February 12 on Secret City Records. Produced by Jim James of My Morning Jacket, the album features guest appearances from members of Houndmouth. James also plays guitar, bass, saxophone and synthesizers.

Recorded in Louisville with James, the first single, “Infamous,” is a departure from her previous work. On her last album, 2013’s Tall Tall Shadow, she inched further away from the intimate folky sounds of her first two records towards a slightly more pop direction. “Infamous,” finds her rocking it more, but without sacrificing the beauty of her voice and her impressive way with melody and songwriting. The album is being released on Canada’s Secret City Records

Basia starts a tour in mid-February with a stop in Philly on Wednesday, March 30th at Boot & Saddle.
