Local art-rock band OhBree continue to churn out the hits with this new single “Manfish.” The track is from their forthcoming EP Feed Me Poison, out March 11th.

“Manfish” is lush in a quirky, Seussian kind of way, syncopating a steady arrangement of guitars and drums with accenting cow bells, horns and other percussive instruments. Of the song and its place in the EP, pianist and singer Andrew Scott tells The Prelude Press:

“Manfish started out as a goofy guitar riff and in the process of making it more musical it turned into one of our most garage-y sounding tracks. As for the lyrics, I’ve always loved writing stories about ridiculous nonsensical characters who have a point to make…. We hopped into the studio to record about 20 demos and the four tracks on Feed Me Poison jumped out as their own corner of the set. Over the 10-11 minute span of the EP we try to cram our most thoughtful horn/guitar/vocal arrangements into songs about fish, confusion, ghosts, and love in the time of space travel.”

Feed Me Poison will be released on March 11th in conjunction with a show at Lavender Town, which also acts as a fundraiser for presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. OhBree will be joined by Dead, Mumblr, Birthday Ponies, Fidel SUN and Howlish; more information can be found here.  Listen to “Manfish” below.
