Aesop Rock takes on Kubrick for full-length The Impossible Kid stream; see him at UT in June
All work and no play makes Aesop a dull boy: Hip-hop eccentrist Aesop Rock has released the full stream of his new album The Impossible Kid ahead of its release this Friday, April 29th.
In a time where albums are being consistently released in stranger and stranger ways, Aesop is the latest to break the mold: He has released The Impossible Kid as a re-creation of the classic Stanley Kubrick film The Shining scene by scene, except Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall and co. are played by paper mache puppets.
You can revisit classic scenes in a puppet version of The Overlook Hotel, from the hedge maze to Room 237, all set to Aesop’s music. Hair of the dog, for sure.
