After a couple weeks off we’re back!  Here’s a sample of what’s coming up Monday night at 8pm on our New Music Show.

“Run Sister Run” by CASS McCOMBS

California singer-songwriter Cass McCombs finds his groove and strikes a chord on his new single “Run Sister Run”. The nearly 6 minute song addresses gender inequality while sitting upon a funky, jazz-infused music bed.  It’s the starting point to a new album, Mangy Love, which comes out this August.

“Low Lays The Devil” by THE VEILS

For those that might not be familiar with The Veils, the London-based band formed over a decade ago and are led by frontman Finn Andrews. Finn is the son of XTC vocalist/keyboardist Barry Andrews.  The music of The Veils has always carried a dark intensity, and from the sound of their new song “Low Lays the Devil” that edge remains. Total Depravity the band’s new album comes out August 26th and we’ll share the first track on our show Monday night.

First Impression Artist: FRANKIE LEE

American Dreamer is the full length debut, just released, from Frankie Lee.  A Minnesota native, Lee is well-traveled having lived in Texas, Austin, Oklahoma, California, Wisconsin and Tennessee.  Those travels and destinations are the fabric of American Dreamer.  The songs that make-up the new album offer a unique musical and lyrical viewpoint of our country and one that has ultimately led Frankie back to the Midwest.
