Following up last month’s standalone “Where The Party At?” single, Johnny Popcorn have shared a brand new track off of their forthcoming Totem Pole release. “Coming Home” will open the album, which is set for release on September 30th.

Produced by Chuck Treese of legendary Philadelphia punk outfit McRad, “Coming Home” shows off Johnny Popcorn’s varied style: it’s funky, it’s got hip hop roots and it rocks pretty hard. Frontman Hezekiah Davis gives a self-assured delivery that drills over the staccato, percussive beats. The sparse arrangement is accented only by an intermittent guitar riff – it’s really Davis’ vocals that are the centerpiece.

To hear live recordings of some other songs that will be on Totem Pole, revisit Johnny Popcorn’s Key Studio Session here. Listen to “Coming Home” below and catch the band at Bourbon & Branch on September 4th.
