If you are into Experimental Pop/Rock than chances are, you are familiar with the six-piece band, Dirty Projectors. The group hasn’t released an album since 2012’s  Swing Lo Magellan, but still garners well over 200,000 monthly Spotify listeners. One can only assume that many of these listeners would be ecstatic for a new release.

On Monday, Dirty Projectors made it clear that they are very aware of the high anticipation for their next LP when they posted a nineteen second video to their Twitter account of a pair of praying hands accompanied by an audio clip. This teaser was followed up today with a forty-five second video of frontman Dave Longstreth shaking his jaw paired with a brief audio clip played on loop featured on the band’s twitter, facebook pages. The caption (or potential song title) was, “What We Imagined and What We Became.” Despite the fact that Dirty Projectors, as a group, has been fairly inactive in recent years- most of the band members have been collaborating with other artists and working on solo projects.

In lieu of these mysterious Twitter videos, members of the band have been posting and changing profile pictures on social media to photos of Longstreth that resemble the image shown in the forty-five second video. The clip of Longstreth is now the first thing that viewers see when visiting their website.  The band has yet to comment on the recent posts, but something is in the works for Dirty Projectors, and make sure you keep an ear out for news of this long-awaited release.
