Philly’s Khari Mateen has added his name to the list of artists protesting the election with “For All People.” In a statement discussing the new track, Mateen says that the song is “for people that understand that spreading hate is not the way to lead or teach future generations,” and if that’s not an idea we can all get behind, I don’t know what is.

“For All People” is a sparse, stripped back affair, with just guitar, bass, hand claps, and distant strings making up its backbone. This minimal instrumentation leaves plenty of room for Mateen’s voice and the message it delivers. For those of us deeply troubled by Tuesday’s outcome, it’s another reminder that you’re not alone out there.
