Upper Darby art-punk favorites mewithoutYou have a good time with their anniversary celebrations — from the epic 10-year-anniversary tour celebrating their breakout album Catch For Us the Foxes to the more recent 15-year reissue of their debut EP, I Never Said That I Was Brave. When a band has been around long enough to cultivate this sort of legacy (and response from fans), it’s undeniably a positive thing — even as they continue releasing exciting new records.

But this fall is also the decade mile-marker for another mwY fan fave, 2006’s Brother, Sister, and today the band mysteriously tweeted about “The Son & The Moon Band” performing a 10-year anniversary album showcase at Boot & Saddle on Thursday, December 29th. Which, considering that “The Sun and The Moon” is a centerpiece track on the album, it certainly sounds like the Weiss brothers and their extended fam will be packing it in at the Boot for the end of the year.

Also on the bill is an opening act called Rush 2.0, which we’ve noticed Hurry Tweeting about — so we sure hope that it is Hurry on the opening slot; OR maybe  Everyone Everywhere, the old band of Hurry front-dude Matt Scottoline (pure speculation); OR EVEN BETTER, members of Hurry and mwY playing 2112 in its entirety (even more purely speculatory).

Whatever the case may be, tickets for The Sun & The Moon Band and Rush 2.0 go on sale this Friday, December 2 at noon. More information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar. Thanks to The Key’s resident mwY reporter Jeremy Zimmerman for his contribution to this post.
