Philadelphia native Bilal is back with a video for “Pleasure Toy,” a track taken from last year’s In Another Life LP that teams up the soul singer with rapper Big K.R.I.T. The clip follows up a trio of songs Bilal recorded with Common for the latter’s upcoming album that tackled mass incarceration, the existence of God, and the Civil Rights movement.

“Pleasure Toy,” meanwhile, is a bit more playful. We see Bilal draped in a black, fringy poncho as he holds a mini keyboard to his ear against a striking geometric background. He and three intricately dressed women show off their dance moves as the 80s synth pop / neo soul mash-up gives you a serious cognitive itch, its minimalist arrangement striking all the right chords.

Watch “Pleasure Toy” below. And as the good folks at Okayplayer report, Bilal fans who find themselves in Lisses, France over the next month will be able to catch the artist at a 17-night residency (yes, you’re reading that correctly) at the town’s Médiathèque Colette, including a New Years’ Eve show. And if you’re really into this video, pick up a pair of matching socks here.
