Ron Gallo | still from video

Wordy garage rocker Ron Gallo has a new album coming out this February 3rd. It’s called Heavy Meta, and if drivers in downtown Nashville had known that, they might have been more prepared for Gallo’s latest antics. It makes for better entertainment that they weren’t, but if you don’t want to take my word for it, stream the new video for “Please Yourself” below.

The video, which was shot in one, uninterrupted take, begins with a spoken word section from Gallo denouncing internet culture. We are lead around the corner to a busy Nashville intersection, where Gallo’s band waits for him in the back of a pickup truck. After the truck has completely blocked all oncoming traffic, the trio launches into the fiery track, and after a little over a minute, they’re gone, just in time for police to arrive.

Next April, Ron Gallo will play World Cafe Live with Hurray For The Riff Raff. For tickets and more information, head over to XPN’s Concert Calendar.
