Danny Black (aka Daniel Schwartz of Good Old War) joined me tonight in the 8 p.m. hour of the XPN Local Show to talk about his new solo album Adventure Soundtrack. It was just released on 2/24 on Nettwerk Records.

No, Good Old War did not break up. But Danny Black had time off from touring and he relaxes through writing and recording, particularly instrumental guitar music. While GOW is in the process of working on a new album, he decided to release this collection of songs and do a solo tour to share this new music.

These songs are a reminder of how much we can enjoy listening to instrumentals and how much they allow us to put our own words and images to the music. In fact, Danny is planning on inviting listeners to do just that…he wants fans to submit videos that use his songs. I’ll have more details on that process once he opens it up.

In the mean time, Danny Black will be performing the entire album this Friday March 3 at The MAAS Building in Northern Liberties, Philadelphia. For more information on the show, head to the XPN Concert Calendar. Below, listen to Danny Black on the XPN Local Show, watch a video of his song “Cascade” and check out the cover art and track listing of his new album.
