Todd Rundgren shares new Robyn collab "That Could Have Been Me"

Upper Darby native Todd Rundgren has announced his 27th studio album and shared its lead single featuring Swedish pop favorite RobynWhite Knight will be out on May 12th via Cleopatra Records, and “That Could Have Been Me” is just the tip of the LP’s collaborative iceberg.

Joining Robyn in the White Knight liner notes are a bunch of heavy hitters: Trent Reznor, Darryl Hall, Bettye Lavette, Joe Walsh, Dam Funk and more. In a press release, Rundgren explained the album’s depth of collaboration:

“It’s easy to get used to playing to your own audience, even if you are absorbing and experimenting with new ideas. I wanted to collaborate not just for the musical possibilities, but also to play for new audiences and expose my fans to the range of artists I enjoy working with.”

Stream “That Could Have Been Me” over on Pitchfork and revisit his 1972 hit “Hello It’s Me” below. There will be a White Knight tour this summer, but no Philly dates have been announced yet.
