A prominent artist in NYC’s Latin Music scene, Gregorio Uribe is the leader of the 16-piece ensemble, the Gregorio Uribe Big Band. Mixing body-moving Colombian rhythms with funky jazz elements, Uribe’s live performances are electric and lively. Don’t miss Uribe as he brings this infectious energy to World Cafe Live tonight for a celebration of Colombian-infused jams. Ticket info is available at the XPN Concert Calendar. Watch his personal invitation/teaser performance for the show below.

With a Bandcamp description citing comparisons such as “the angst of a mid 20s punk rocker, the sorrow of a traditional country artist, and the free wheeling spirit of his folk hero,” local Mat Burke seems like an interesting fellow to say the least. Experience his emo-punk-country tonight when Burke rocks out at Bourbon and Branch. Find more info here, and listen to his song “I Can’t Be What You Want Me To Be” below.
