Though Stef Chura just recently released her debut studio album, Messes, with Urinal-Cake Records, Chura has been creating fun, ironic gritty-twang music as an active member of the underground Detroit DIY scene for some time now. Be sure to catch her tonight when she stops by Boot and Saddle. Find more concert info here, and watch the colorfully morbid video for “Spotted Gold” below.

San Antonio rock six-piece Feminia-X leads a stacked bill at Kung Fu Necktie, with Trenton rap crew Agudos Clef, cellist and soundscaper Daniel DeJesus — who played an impressive set at a World Cafe Latin Roots concert back in the fall — and beatmaking duo Trap Rabbit. Femina-X just released the stunning Multiverse LP last week on Bandcamp, and it blends spacey atmospheres and haunting vocal melodies with dynamic guitar rock. Tickets and more information on the show can be found here.

California indie four-piece Allah-Las blends retro, upbeat, sunny guitar licks with lo-fi garage rock for some sweet, catchy tunes that have a bit of an edge. Formed in 2008, Allah Las released their third studio album, Calico Review, this past September. Don’t miss their grunge pop, Cali-sound when they play Union Transfer tonight. Info can be found on the XPN Concert Calendar; listen to “Famous Phone Figure” below.
