Cleveland-turned-Philly artist Maxwell Stern made his move known back in March with his self-released solo debut,There’s A Time For Everything. Now, he’s released a two track EP which includes an original titled “Light Later Lately” and a cover of Cayetana’s “Mountain Kids.”

This time around, Stern’s staving off total solo efforts by enlisting friends in the musical process. Recorded by Ian Farmer from Modern Baseball, the tracks also feature the instrumental stylings of Jon Hernandez from Timeshares and Jeff Meyers from Restorations.

The result is a fuller, thicker sound. This doesn’t mean an abandonment of the cozy, bedroom pop vibes, however, as they fuzz about beautifully in the gauzy Cayetana cover. But as shown in “Light Later Lately” the additional aid elevates the tune to perfect basement show-ready crunchiness.

You can catch Maxwell Stern close out his upcoming tour with a house show at Broke Down Palace on September 2nd. Be there or be square. But before then, stream Stern’s two-track EP below.
