Along with making the cut for Obama’s 2017 playlist, Brandi Carlile’s moving song, “The Joke,” made it to Jimmy Kimmel Live! where the strong folk-rock idol performed an especially powerful rendition of the modern anthem.

Supported by a string quartet and her band, Carlile is a fixture of hope and confidence as she belts the reassuring, sweeping chorus. More likely than not, it will make you feel all the feels. Long live, Queen Brandi.
