Earlier this week, Philly-via-Doylestown rockers Ceramic Animal released the long-awaited followup single to their 2016 debut LP, The Cart. Seemingly always donning suits and channeling young love through a psych-tinted filter, “So Familiar” picks up right where the band left off without a drop in quality in the slightest.

“So Familiar” is a psychedelic slow-burner, with sunbursts of reverb-drenched sounds exploding throughout the track. With shimmering keys peeking through, Ceramic Animal provides a sunshine state of mind soundtrack even in the dead of winter. Capped off with a hazy, atmospheric guitar solo, the group’s ability to channel the eras of pop’s past with modern execution does not fail to impress.

Continuing on an impressive list of last-year gigs (opening for Kasabian at The Troc, performing at the inaugural Philly Music Fest, and flying west for a 3-show California jaunt), Ceramic Animal will be headlining World Cafe Live downstairs on Saturday, February 17.
