Philly’s Three Man Cannon is a fairly low-key band. From their relaxed, lo-fi sound to nonexistent showiness, they seem to be some of the most easygoing yet extremely talented dudes in the scene (that, side note, I feel like deserve oodles more attention.) But this understated exposure may just halt here as the longtime four-piece announced an upcoming self-titled album, and have shared a new single to celebrate.

Well, it’s technically new. Official record new. The four stealthy ninjas actually snuck it past us in their Audiotree Live session last year under the guise of a different name, “Forsynthia.” With an updated title (“Building Broken Steps,”) and amped-up production, Three Man Cannon embrace a poppy kind of upbeat bluesy-ness on the track.

Moseying along to an ongoing steady beat, the band later join their voices to shout the either cynically-defeating or optimistically-cheery line, “Let it be your bones. Let it be your home. Get used to it.” Personally, I’m going to read it as a bit of both, which lets “Building Broken Stairs” become an unexpectedly fun mantra that reminds you to just keep on trucking along.

Choose your interpretation by listening below. Three Man Cannon’s self-titled album will be available on March 16th via Lame-O Records.
