Loads of jazz, a helping of punk rock, autumnal tones, possibly the last big outdoor concert of the year, and of course Philly Music Fest — a four day celebration of music born and bred in the 215. Here are 18 concerts to see in the next seven days.

Tuesday 9/25: Satoko Fujiii at House Gallery 1816

Many critics hail Japenese pianist and Satoko Fujiii as one of the most creative voices in jazz. Her avant-garde compositions challenge the limits of jazz, and sometimes, music itself. On Tuesday she’ll play the intimate House Gallery 1816 on Frankford Ave with her “This is It” trio, touring on the release of their new record 1538. Erica Corbo/Michael Szekeley/Heath Watts Trio will open. It’s sure to be an essential show for those looking to explore the outer limits of jazz. // 8 p.m., FREE, AA // INFO – Steph Davies

Wednesday 9/26: Sunship at Institute of Contemporary Art

This week, as a part of the ICA’s biannual “Free For All” event, Sunship—the jazz quartet of Sun Ra Arkestra keyboardist Farid Abdul Bari-Barron—will play a free show. At the same time, the ICA will be holding free experimental music workshops that invite guests to experiment with mini-moog synthesizers and create their own abstract works. Arkestra fanatics would also do well to catch the full ensemble at Johnny Brenda’s this Halloween. // 6 p.m., FREE, AA // TIX + INFO – S.D.
