While Firefly‘s recently-announced 2019 lineup isn’t doing anything to improve the Dover, Delaware festival’s track record of booking overwelmingly male headliners, seeing psychedelic rap visionary Travis Scott take the big-font Saturday-night prime slot is indeed a silver lining, especially in the wake of his ridiculous ASTROWORLD tour stop at the Wells Fargo Center.

Scott is sandwiched between Friday’s appearance from pop punk dramatists Panic! At the Disco and Sunday’s closing set from hip-hop’s voice of suburban ennui, Post Malone, who admittedly has a few catchy songs in his playbook. But as the case is with most festivals of this scale, the true excitement at Firefly lies in its undercard.

For 2019, the  festival has tapped Australian rocker Courtney Barnett and Swedish pop avatar Lykke Li, buttoned up indie popsters Vampire Weekend, and emotive party rappers Brockhampton. Also in the mix are Philly favorites Hop Along and Mo Lowda and the Humble, the current touring incarnation of TLC, modern rock titans Death Cab For Cutie, the full-throttle funk/soul outfit Tank and the Bangas, and more.

The festival has also shortened this year by a day. It was previously a sprawling four-day epic — with a low-key Thursday bill easing festival-goers into the Woodlands site, followed by jam-packed Friday and Saturday bills with a tempered Sunday comedown. This year, it’s solidly three days, which were hoping doesn’t adversely affect travel to and from the festival; the last year Firefly lasted only three days was 2013, a year marred by massive traffic congestion along the DuPont Highway.
