Suave Brooklyn-ite Eli “Paperboy” Reed releases his sixth LP, 99 Cent Dreams, on April 12 via Yep Roc Records. Recorded in Memphis at Sam Phillips Recording Studio, the city and scene’s juke joint vibe seeped heavy into Reed’s already stylish sound, as we hear in the new single “Bank Robber,” featuring its backing vocals by Memphis singers group The Masqueraders.
Reed brings the record to Boot & Saddle — speaking of juke joint vibes — on May 3rd, for the second date of his U.S. tour in support of 99 Cent Dreams. Tickets are on sale now, and more information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar. Listen to “Bank Robber” below.
