The annual Center City Jazz Festival will return on Saturday, April 27. Now entering its eighth year, the festival celebrates Philadelphia Jazz Appreciation Month with a packed day of performances across several downtown venues. The event takes place throughout the neighborhood, but all within quick walking distance, at venues like Fergie’s Pub and Chris’ Jazz Cafe, making it easy to catch as many of the 20 or so performers as possible.

About a dozen performers have been added to this year’s lineup so far, including acclaimed pianists Marc Cary and Sumi Tonooka and bassist Adi Meyerson, with lots more still to be announced. There will be plenty of local faces at the festival too, from up-and-coming band Vertical Current to singer-songwriter Lee Mo. Visit ccjazzfest.com for more information on this year’s festival, and to see some photos from last year’s event.
