Just Announced: PUP will headline Franklin Music Hall this September

By the looks of it, Toronto punk four-piece PUP is about to spend most of the next year of their life on tour around the world. And deservedly so — their new Morbid Stuff record is their strongest work to date, amplifying and expanding their trademark gang vocal ragers about mental health into sonic territory reminiscent of R.E.M. (the opening title track) and The Hold Steady (listen to frontperson Stefan Babcock get his Craig Finn on during the spoken-sung “Kids”).

After packing out Union Transfer earlier this spring, PUP just extended their tour through November to include their biggest headlining Philly show to date at the Franklin Music Hall on Wednesday, September 11th, with Cali indie rockers Illuminati Hotties opening. It’s wild to think that this is a band who only five years ago we saw literally climbing the walls in the living room of West Philly’s storied Golden Tea House.

Tickets to the concert go on sale Tuesday, April 16th, at 10 a.m.; more information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar. Listen to Morbid Stuff and peruse their ridiculous tour schedule below.
