It’s been a long road for Philly-via-Pottsville rockers Sun God, who are just emerging from a five-year break in between releases. Their forthcoming EP Life Skills marks a fresh start for the band, and as the title suggests, it’s a product of some considerable growth and learning.

The four-piece of Will Hochgertel, Steve Kurtz, Mike Paulshock and Jordan Smith, recorded Life Skills with Jake Clarke at Germantown’s Retro City Studios and self-released it digitally; you can stream it in full below via Bandcamp. With dreamy lyrics and mellowed-out guitar, The EP’s four tracks strike a balance that’s both polished and laid-back, proving that Sun God has grown into their sound with ease.

Sun God will play a few local gigs in support of the new EP this spring. Check out their schedule below and find more information on the XPN Concert Calendar.
