Rockers Galore is wildly catchy and powerfully political on new Sak Pase EP

Rockers Galore‘s style is hard to pin down. On any given track the Philly group, led by vocalist / bassist Blayer Pointdujour, will bounce between hard rock, kompa, hip hop, funk, and more. Rather than being overwhelming and exhausting, like that list of genres threatens to be, Rockers Galore’s music is addicting and wildly fun. The group’s latest release, Sak Pase, is a tight four track collection that serves as a perfect introduction to the vibrant world of Rockers Galore.

Sak Pase‘s four tracks are bursting with vivid energy. “One Shot” opens with metal-like guitars before transforming into a wildly catchy and Caribbean-inspired jam. One might not expect punkish guitars, reggae drums, and winding saxophone solos to go together, but on Sak Pase they just do. The EP’s penultimate track, “Philando,” is a powerful political statement. The song’s namesake comes from Philando Castille, who was killed by Minnesota police in 2017. Lyrically the song discusses the horrors of police brutality and its effect on the country at large. The range of genres and topics explored on Sak Pase highlights Rockers Galore’s uniqueness and carves out a special place for them in the Philly music scene.

On June 28th the band will bring Sak Pase to Pharmacy as part of “Keef’s Variety Show”. The performance will likely be a lively and memorable one. The show will also feature sets from Mala Vista, Breakout, and more. Find more information about the show here.
