Philly R&B-pop artist AnnonXL is back again with his new EP Summer Affair. Appropriately named, the three-song effort is groovy, upbeat, and definitely a little bit seductive— the perfect summer vibe.

AnnonXL’s EP packs a lot into just ten minutes of music, showing us a little bit of everything he’s capable of. “Drought.” is on the slower side, with a steady, pulsing rhythm. But, like I said, things don’t stay that way for long. “Into Me” picks up, showcasing AnnonXL’s ability to get us moving. With an irresistible dance beat and catchy synth riffs, it’s definitely the most high-energy track on the EP.

“Berries & Champagne”‘s energy is somewhere in between the first two songs, with dreamlike melodies and tasteful arrangements throughout. All of AnnonXL’s songs are intricate and complex, with just the right sounds at just the right times.

AnnonXL will play MilkBoy on Saturday, July 27th and Johnny Brenda’s on Saturday, August 10th. Find ticket info on the XPN Concert Calendar and listen to “Drought.” below.
