After a long absence from the scene, Saintseneca have announced a their second Philly show in just over a year. The Columbus indie-folk band are set to play Boot & Saddle on Wednesday, September 18th. Last September they graced PhilaMOCA with a knockout performance. The band’s latest slew of tour dates sees them continuing to ride the momentum the album they released last summer, Pillar of Na. With a year of touring the album behind them, the band’s upcoming show is bound to be even more enchanting.

Pillars of Na builds on the grandiosity and grace of the Saintseneca’s previous records, Such Things and Dark Arc. The band, made up of Zac Little, Steve Ciolek, Jon Meador, Maryn Jones, and Matt O’Conke continues to offer listeners new approaches to folk music. Little’s songwriting is stronger than ever. Na‘s lyrics err on the introspective side, which, when paired with the band’s unique and obscure instrumentation, makes for a thrilling listen. The album’s title track is a nearly nine-minute epic that transforms from a delicate  rack to a full-blown indie rock jam and closes a capella. Saintseneca’s ability to marry seemingly opposed genres and instruments remains unmatched.
