Arch of Love are back with “Say,” another silky smooth synthpop tune. This time, Chelsea Brennan and Chris Schackerman go upbeat, reflecting on poor communication. The fast-paced guitar riffs and programmed drums bop throughout the tune, never ceasing or holding up the energy.

Schackerman, former touring member of The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, provided the guitar and drums for the tune, while Brennan delivers sultry vocals and synthesizer riffs. The two come together and show a special kind of chemistry, creating a call-and-response between the vocals and guitars during the choruses. The instrumentation, joyful and uplifting, provides a nice contrast to Brennan’s wistful lyrics, showing the musical versatility of the duo. Listen to “Say” below.
