We’ve crossed paths with Philly bassist Yeho Bostick in any number of projects: psychedelic popsters Circadian Rhythms, Latin folk groovers Interminable, jazz-tinged singer-songwriter outfit Like Birds. The lifelong Philly resident’s roots stretch far and wide, from his education at the High School for the Creative and Performing Arts to his time honing his chops in the regional jam community.

This week, Bostick joins host Dan Drago on the 25 O’Clock podcast, which is back in action after a short hiatus.

In their interview, Bostick talks about learning his first instrument, clarinet, at CAPA, and shared what it’s like studying at a music-intensive school. From there they bounce into a discussion of learning how to jam, not just on a technical level, but an organizational one, the ability to juggle dozens of projects at a single time. Drago and Bostick also reflect on the importance of making space for music throughout your life, no matter what your skill level, and dive extensively into the world of this year’s Porchfest, where Yeho once again played host to a vibrant lineup of artists.
