Over the last few months, Brooklyn band boy/all girl has evolved into the new Philly band, Grocer. To introduce themselves to their new city, Grocer will be taking up residence at Ortlieb’s throughout the month of March. The self-described “skronky weirdo quartet” also plans to release Little Splash, their debut album under the new name, next month.

Hosted by local comedian Geoff Jackson, the series of Ortlieb’s shows — every Wednesday in March — will give Grocer the chance showcase their new material and also cover some of their favorite Philly bands. They’ll be joined for a few local acts each week.

“With a new decade comes a new beginning, and it only felt right to call it what it is,” Grocer recently shared on their Facebook page. “In the years since making our last album Slagroom, we deconstructed what we had been doing, built it back from the ground up, and taught ourselves some new skills. The growth process is difficult and embarrassing in equal parts, but it has consistently remained satisfying to look back on as we break open this new idea of what our band could be.”
