When local singer-songwriter Emily Drinker played live on The Key Studio Sessions last fall, they closed their set with a stirring, unreleased song called “Starting To Feel.” This week, the single version of the track released on Bandcamp, the first new music she’s released since the Run The Race EP in 2017.

Wrapped up in radiant vocal harmonies, and climbing a dynamic and emotional hill, the song starts out quiet and uncertain as Drinker sings about emerging out of a fog, rekindling feelings that might possibly be that thing called love, after having been emotionally guarded for so long.

The track features Drinker’s band of late: Ethan Cain and Mykk Hoffman on electric guitars, Eric Cooper on bass, with Hambone Relay’s Rob Tait on drums and Anam Owili-Eger on keys.

To celebrate the new song’s release, Drinker and her bandmates played live on Facebook yesterday — watch the video here, and listen to “Starting To Feel” below.
