Watch RedTouchBlack rage along the water in the new “Scorched Earth” video

Psychedelic-tinged Philly rockers RedTouchBlack emerged from quarantine to film a video for their recent rager “Scorched Earth” along the banks of Crum Creek in Delaware County.

Shot in Smedley Park by versatile local videographer Bob Sweeney, the video follows bandmates Adam Geer (guitar / vocals), Shannon Lafferty (keys / vocals), Forrest Wright (bass) and Adam Phaneuf (drums) along a path under 476, through the woods, and to the creek, where they proceed to jam on the water.

The image dissolves into trippy ripples waving across the screen, and reforms brilliantly, as the mostly masked-up band finds ways to channel the energy of the heavy song with the elements of nature surrounding them; watch for Phaneuf drumming on rocks, and Lafferty bracing her keyboard along a tree stump.

“Scorched Earth” is RedTouchBlack’s second single; earlier this year, Geer wrote a must-read essay about his experiences with racism for Magnet Magazine.
