Philly Electro-pop band Great Time is making their first release of 2021 by keeping listeners on their toes. In a new series of EPs, Sounds Like ___, the trio create an air of mystery around the soundscapes of the forthcoming projects.

In a series of Instagram posts, the band has been asking fans what they think the music will sound like, while also providing a window into their process. As frontperson Jill Ryan wrote in one post: “making music is always a self-reflective process for me. Writing [new music] this past year has been a chance to organize my thoughts & an opportunity to genuinely ask myself: who am I? what do I value? and what do I need? “

Sounds Like ___ [Vol 1]is set to release March 25, and the project’s first single will be debuting on XPN Local on Tuesday, March 23. Tune in at 9 p.m. ET on the radio in Philly at 88.5 FM, or streaming online at XPN.org.

Below, revisit Great Time’s set for the virtual 2020 XPoNential Music Festival.
