Riot Grrrl icons Bikini Kill had planned on an international reunion run for 2020, before the Coronavirus pandemic stopped all live music plans. Today they’ve announced rescheduled dates, and they’re playing it safe and plotting their tour for next year.

Bikini Kill’s tour begins April 29th of 2022 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, and their Philadelphia stop happens at Franklin Music Hall on July 13th, 2022.

While we certainly hope we won’t have to worry about COVID-19 some 15 months from now, it’s nonetheless important to keep informed of where the continuing pandemic leads us; newly announced tour dates are subject to change due to Coronavirus’ unpredictability, and while Franklin Music Hall does not appear to have a dedicated website anymore, it is managed by Bowery Presents, and we encourage fans to consult their website for more on COVID precautions.

For this particular show (which is on sale now), Bowery says “This event will be presented in accordance with applicable public health requirements as of the date of the event; which could include changes to capacity, attendance prerequisites, procedures, and other protective measures.” Further, for fans who bought tickets to the original 2020 date, “there is nothing you need to do, your original tickets are valid for the new date and will be honored at the door.”

Bikini Kill is also using this tour — featuring founding members Kathleen Hanna on vocals, Tobi Vail on drums, and Kathi Wilcox on bass, along with guitarist Erica Dawn Lyle — for activism, as their Olympia, Washington show is benefiting Interfaith Works Nightly Shelter, a the city’s only homeless services organization that centers women and LGBT single adults.

The band is also reissuing a 25th anniversary limited-edition blue vinyl pressing of their 1996 album Reject All American on May 7th for Bandcamp Friday; listen to music from it below, check out their full tour itinerary, and find more on the Franklin Music Hall show here.
