DJ Robert Drake will close out #XPNMTVWeek with the 24-hour XPN80sXplosion broadcast

Join DJ Robert Drake as he channels his Night Before inner magic to wrap up #XPNMTVWeek another 24-hour live broadcast: the XPN80sXplosion!

Drake has put together a wide-ranging, multi-genre music mix of the 80s starting this Friday, August 6th, at 7 p.m. EP and continuing through the 7th at 7 p.m. Throughout the takeover he’ll spotlight 24 different albums that XPN listeners nominated as one of their favorites. Also, a healthy (or unhealthy) dose of 80s one-hit Wonders will be scattered throughout the show He’ll chat with MTV VJ Mark Goodman about the formation of MTV on Friday night (with a rebroadcast Saturday late morning).

Then, the XPN All Request Show will morph into TRL XPN! Our version of Total Request Live, hosted by Drake, will incorporate listeners’ voicemails “instantly” requesting their favorite songs from the 1980s! Listeners can ring the TRL XPN request line at 215-573-WXPN.

The XPN80sXplosion is perfect way for us to cap off #XPNMTVWeek, and for additional fun, fans can check in on the show via the 80s Cam at XPN.org, which will be broadcasting a live feed of Drake in the studio surrounded by an array of 80s-centric decorations designed by South Street Art Mart.
