Despite the icy title, “Snowbird” is one of the warmest songs you’ve heard in a while. The latest single from Mo Lowda & The Humble, it feels like your favorite well-worn winter jacket: comfy and cozy, shimmering like sunlight on freshly fallen snow.

Along with the new song, band has also announced a string of fall tour dates across the U.S. They will be playing a homecoming show at Union Transfer on November 19.

The track began as a voice memo four to five years ago that lead singer Jordan Caiola recently stumbled upon and decided to revisit. The result is a bright groove that feels like curling up fireside; you can feel the ice melt as Caiola sings, “when the darkness intensified / you’d spread your fragile wings and let me inside.” Between the toasty guitar riffs and shakers, it’s hard to remember the song was written when it was still freezing outside.

“There’s no doubt that last winter took an emotional toll on just about everyone (combining lockdown with the cold) and I was inspired to write a song from the perspective of someone dealing with seasonal depression,” said Caiola in an email. “Yet having another person by their side to push them through it (the Snowbird in the window sill). Once I brought it to Shane and Jeff they breathed new life into it like they always do and we even wrote the entire outro in the studio. I love how this song turned out and I think it’s an exciting departure from our previous stuff whilst still feeling like a Mo Lowda song.”

Adding to the anticipation of their fall tour, the band recently released a Headroom Session where they play an intimate version of “Pearls.”
