As the Omicron variant of COVID-19 surges across the United States and year-end concerts are cancelled or postponed, the future of Dr. Dog‘s final five hometown concerts seemed uncertain. But the band announced on Christmas Day that they would play their shows as scheduled, ending their career as a touring band with a sold out concert at The Fillmore, two sold-out TLA shows, and two sold-out Union Transfer shows, concluding on New Year’s Eve.

“We’ll be there,” the band announced cheerfully on Instagram, going on to say that refunds will be available for ticket-holders who do not feel comfortable attending. In addition, “If you’re one of the many people looking for tickets for a show next week, refunded tickets will be made available for sale,” the band writes, encouraging fans to keep checking back on ticketing sites.

The Union Transfer shows on December 30th and 31st are vaccination-only for entry. The LiveNation shows on December 27th through the 29th will allow the option of a negative test administered within the past 72 hours. The Fillmore Philly show on the 27th will have onsite testing available, but will charge for it.

“We hope all this helps everybody,” the band writes. More information can be found in Dr. Dog’s IG post below.
