Rockers Galore‘s style is hard to pin down. On any given track the Philly group, led by vocalist / bassist Blayer Pointdujour, will bounce between hard rock, kompa, hip hop, funk, and more. Rockers Galore get serious about Police Brutality in their music video “Philando”

Rockers Galore is speaking up against police brutality with their new music video “Philando” featuring singer Candice Mills. In the lyrics, the band speaks about increased fear, unequal treatment and lives lost — “You got no authority to put your hands on me / Stop and frisk is just a target for minorities.”

The song’s namesake is Philando Castile, who was killed in 2017 after being shot seven times by Minnesota Police. Incorporating their aggressive mix of Hiphop, Rock, Reggae, Haitian, and other Caribbean style, Rockers Galore breaks the silence with this music video using their voices and demanding to be heard. The video is filled with clips of skateboarders and different protest footage dealing with movements such as Black Lives Matter. Frontman Blayer Pointdujour comments: Continue reading →

Next year, Rockers Galore has something big in store for the city of Philadelphia. On January 31st, the kompa crew fronted by Blayer Pointdujour is throwing a winter reggae jam called Blast Off featuring HR from Bad Brains, Chuck Treece, I Yahn I Arkestra, Worldtown Sound System and Cultreal. Blayer Pointdujour & The Rockers Galore share new video for “Dirty Kompa Party” (playing The TLA on 12/21)

Local rock band Blayer Pointdujour & The Rockers Galore have shared a new video for “Dirty Kompa Party,” a single off of the group’s recent The Villain EP.  The video follows Pointdujour around town, alternating the neighborhood shots with clips of the band in a rehearsal space and at a nightclub.  The Rockers Galore are set to open for internationally acclaimed Haitian kompa duo T-Vice at The TLA on December 21st; tickets and information can be found here.

Philly’s Blayer Pointdujour & the Rockers Galore performed a new track called “Dirty Kompa Party” at a recent Kung Fu Necktie gig.  Following up last year’s The Bull LP, the local eclectic punky / rootsy / hip-hop outfit is working on a new record and have already shared a collaboration with Kuf Knotz called “Big Haiti’s Dream.”  “Dirty Kompa Party” is an upbeat love song made for dancing, something the band hopes you’ll do at one of their upcoming shows – they’ll be at the Rockers! BBQ Weekend at House of Hayes on July 19th and have just been announced as part of this year’s 2nd Street Festival on August 4th.
